Process of Evaluation

PROCESS OF EVALUATION

IMPORTANT: EVALUATION TIMELINE

STEP 1: Intake Consultation

Contact Our Office: Call (706) 546-8440 or email brandi.beasley81@gmail.com to schedule your intake appointment.

Initial Consultation: Dr. Solomon will meet with you to discuss your concerns and gather a comprehensive developmental, medical, psychological, educational, and social history. A plan for assessment will be developed and reviewed.

Please bring relevant records, including:

  • Therapy or psychiatry notes
  • Neurology records
  • Neuroimaging (e.g., brain MRI, head CT, EEG)
  • School or prior psychological testing records

STEP 2: Assessment Appointment

Assessment is conducted one-on-one with the patient. Standardized tasks evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.

Appointments are typically several hours long, with duration varying based on individual pacing, the length of the assessment battery, and diagnostic needs. Breaks are provided as needed.

Note: Parents/guardians do not join during a child assessment appointment.

Preparation and Expectations:

  • If under age 13, an adult must remain on-site.
  • Bring glasses or hearing aids if used.
  • Snacks and drinks are welcome.

Medication Guidance: If evaluating for certain conditions, our team may advise you not to take medications such as stimulants or benzodiazepines prior to the appointment, as these can affect attention, memory, and behavior and may impact results.

STEP 3: Feedback and Ongoing Support

A comprehensive report (results, diagnoses, and recommendations) will be completed within approximately 4–8 weeks after assessment. A feedback session will be scheduled to review results.
